SEO- Fundamental and its Future in 2024
Do you want your website to appear on the top or first page when someone googles something? So, the process of achieving this goal is called SEO. SEO, or search engine optimization, involves a series of techniques to enhance the visibility and ranking of web pages in organic search results.
History of search engines
Back then, as the Internet was becoming popular, web owners/businessman created their websites, but these websites were unknown to the users as they were in large numbers. So, to solve this problem, web directories were introduced and websites were arranged/stored in these directories category-wise. But as time passed, website numbers increased rapidly and web directories could not hold them, so search engines were introduced where a user comes and searches his query and selects his desired website. Everyone thinks GOOGLE was the 1st search engine but unfortunately, it’s not true. YAHOO was the 1st search engine. GOOGLE search engine was introduced much later but now more than 70% of users use Google for their query
How does the Google search engine work?
Let us suppose you have three servants. You will task the first servant to take all the books and put them in the hall. Then you will tell the second servant to arrange the books category-wise. Lastly, you will tell the third servant to bring the desired book to me. As the books were arranged properly in categories, the servant brought the book in no time. The search engine also works in the same way. The 1st step in which books are kept in the hall is called crawling i.e. all the websites/data inside the website is crawled and kept on Google’s local server. In the next step, all the data inside the local server is arranged into categories. This step is called indexing. Lastly, when the user comes and searches for his query, google uses its ranking algorithms to display the result on SERP (search engine result page is the page where Google displays its result).
Crawling–> indexing–>displaying result.
Here one thing should be kept in mind search engines operate/function on algorithms provided by respective search engines
What are the different types of optimization?
There are 3 types of optimization or you can say there are three practices you have to perform for SEO.
1. On-page SEO
2. Off-page SEO
